A couple of easy math brain teasers

Some days ago I received an internal newsletter containing a couple of easy math brain teasers. I aready solved them so am going to show them here, without the answers obviously because they are pretty easy.

1) Can you take the numbers 21, 10, 5, and 3 and make the total equal 24 using basic arithmetic signs (*, /, +, -)? Each number may must only be used once, and every number must be used.

For example, if given 2, 2, 4, and 6 the answer would be

6/2 = 3
3*2 = 6
6*4 = 24

2, 2, 4, and 6 were all used once.

2) If it takes a man one hour to dig a hole two meters long, two meters wide, and two meters deep, how long would it take the same man to dig a hole four meters long, four meters wide, and four meters deep, assuming he digs at the same rate of speed?

Changes and Leadership

In case you haven’t seen it, there’s a good video in YouTube about how changes occur because of someone not being conformist (or a sheep) and thus being in some way a leader for change. I saw it first on this post created by Fabián Gradoph who saw it here on César Viteri’s blog.

Here’s the YouTube link: Changes!

The little video is repeated two times in there, with different music each one and minor frame differences; I have to say I liked the second one because the music is more dramatic, I think.

Blogging is in

If you have doubts about blogging being “in”, then go an check out the following video:

Nice!

That’s What We All Need: A Hug

I’m stealing the same title as the one Luis used for this entry a week ago. I just wanted to include a link in here to that entry so that you can enjoy the video as I did.

We’re losing being friendly with everyone, strangers or not, that’s what God told us.

In case you want to add the video URL to your bookmarks or add it to your favorites in case you have a YouTube account, here’s the link.

Thanks a lot Luis, and Robin, for letting me have the chance to see that video!
