Lotus Ventura is now Lotus Connections

Now that Lotusphere 2007 has ended you may know by now that Lotus Ventura’s formal name is now Lotus Connections, and that’s precisely the product I’m so excited about.

I don’t have to say that, inside of IBM, these tools (technologies) are a success. More between those who get the Web 2.0 or Social Networking topics, but obviously there have been a lot of converts to this tools. It’s nice to see how there are lots and lots of guys who quickly realize the usefulness of the tools simply because they started to use them and found that they find any kind of stuff pretty fast.

This for sure is different than with similar tools in the internet, because the interests and level of knowledge are so down out there that “socializing” within your own organization makes a great difference from the point of view of knowledge and skills involved in those interactions going on. Well, I don’t think I have to explain this in depth since I give for granted that if you are reading this or any other blog then you know what I mean.

Here comes Lotusphere 2007!

I’m so excited about next week because there will be an event you shouldn’t miss if you are in the Lotus software arena, I’m talking about Lotusphere 2007 !! Oh yes !

If you’re going to go then you’re privileged ! Because there will be important and interesting announcements in there that I’m sure you’ll like (as me!).

Pay attention to the news sites and the community of bloggers about all Lotus because you’ll be surprised, I am sure !

Embrace, Extend, Extinguish Strategy

I just finished reading this post/article on Groklaw that talks about Microsoft and I think it’s definitely interesting.

I wasn’t aware that such an strategy existed in the world, but now I undertand what “some” companies do.

Intellivision

Today that I saw a post from someone in the internal Blogosphere of IBM I decided to do a quick search of the game console that I liked the most (way more than the Atari we also had), I’m talking about the Mattel Intellivision.

I’m just going to add here the links to the sites I looked at (from the first page of the Google results):

I don’t know, but I would like to see bigger pictures of the console.

I liked the plastic cards you insert into the controls that showed you the purpose of each button depending of the game you were playing.
